The fashion weeks of New York, Paris and Milan are highly anticipated events in the fashion industry as they showcase the upcoming trends that are predicted to hit it big in the next coming months.

Not too long ago, trendy is a word that some wouldn't dare associate with plus size clothing. Fortunately, changing times bring about changing attitudes. Retailers and designers are now fully aware that when they sell or create clothes for the modern woman, that encompasses the plus size woman also. Specialty shops and online stores continue to flourish too.

All women regardless of their size want to wear clothes that will boost their confidence and their femininity. No woman would ever wish to be caught wearing a shapeless dress or ill-fitting outfit in public.

How do you know what fits you? Comfort counts foremost. If you'll be wearing something "of the moment" and yet find yourself, for example, checking if the seams are in place every minute or so, then that doesn't count as being cool.

Color is another practical consideration. Black has a slimming effect it's true but a poorly tailored black suit can instead highlight the untoward areas you're supposed to mask. Stay away from turtlenecks because they accentuate the chest area and cut the rest of the body short. Other good black color options are ebony black, charcoal, and gray.

Be conscious when choosing cuts and styles. An outfit that looks good on one may not necessarily be as flattering to the other.
